Introduction
At the request of our client, we embarked on the redesign of the Marine Locker project, leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, CAD outsourcing, 3D modelling, and mechanical design. The client was dissatisfied with the current product design and sought a fresh, innovative solution to visually and functionally enhance the Marine Locker. After an initial meeting and a thorough definition of expectations, we aligned on the redesign direction and began the creative process.
Old Design As Starting point:
To gather inspiration and push the boundaries of the concept, we integrated the AI tool Midjourney into our workflow. Starting from initial sketches and concept drawings, we submitted these designs to the AI tool to generate the first visual proposals. Through multiple iterations, the AI helped us shape a new visual direction, after which we created a conceptual 3D model in SolidWorks. This initial model was then returned to Midjourney, allowing the AI to generate additional proposals based on our guidelines. Through these creative cycles between our team and AI, we refined the look and functionality until we arrived at the final design, which we then successfully presented to the client.
